Case Summary
A state criminal defendant challenged the admission of highly prejudicial evidence in her trial. The Court held that clearly established federal law recognized that erroneous admission of unduly prejudicial evidence can render a trial fundamentally unfair in violation of due process. The lower court therefore applied an impermissibly narrow habeas standard.
