Case Summary
Andre Bridgewater was convicted of murder and related offenses in the fatal shooting of Myron Short. He challenged the sufficiency of the evidence and the admission of prior inconsistent statements by a witness. The Georgia Supreme Court affirmed. The court held that the evidence supported the convictions and that the witness’s prior statements were admissible after the witness had an opportunity to explain or deny them and Bridgewater had an opportunity to question the witness about them. The court rejected the remaining claims and left the judgment undisturbed. One justice did not participate.
