Case Summary

Cortney Bell was convicted of second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, and felony contributing to the dependency of a minor after the death of her two-week-old daughter. The Court of Appeals of Georgia held that the evidence was insufficient to support the murder and cruelty convictions but sufficient to support the felony dependency conviction. The court reversed the former convictions and affirmed the latter, resulting in an affirmed-in-part and reversed-in-part judgment.
