Case Summary
The State of Georgia sought a limited remand so it could pursue a superseding indictment in state court against federal officers charged in connection with the 2016 raid that killed Jamarion Robinson. The district court denied the request, and Georgia attempted an interlocutory appeal. The Eleventh Circuit held that the order did not fall within the collateral-order doctrine or the relevant interlocutory-appeal statute and therefore lacked jurisdiction to review it. The majority dismissed the appeal; Judge Branch concurred in the judgment and explained that the majority reached issues unnecessary to the disposition.
