Case Summary

Atlanta Municipal Court Judge Terrinee Gundy agreed to resolve charges that she routinely arrived hours late, missed 40 workdays in 2016, 63 in 2017, and 19 through July 2018, and refused scheduled appearances, leaving six defendants jailed about a week too long. Gundy admitted the tardiness charges and agreed evidence could prove the remaining charged conduct; separate concealment allegations were dropped as unprovable. The Supreme Court found the absences and unnecessary jail time serious and more egregious than earlier discipline, but accepted consent to end proceedings pending for more than three years. It suspended Gundy without pay for 90 days, ordered a public reprimand in open court, and unsealed the filings. Justice Colvin was disqualified.
