Case Summary

Patriot Towing Services sued Khosrow Daneshgari and Leslie Zotti for allegedly violating a noncompete agreement made when Patriot purchased their towing business. After the defendants failed to comply with an injunction and contempt order, the trial court extended the injunction beyond the contract’s expiration date. The Court of Appeals of Georgia reversed that portion of the contempt orders. It held that litigation did not extend the contractual noncompete period and that a court could not indefinitely enjoin conduct after the covenant had expired.
