Case Summary

Antonio Lanier was convicted of two murders and related offenses in the deaths of Auda and Gerald Anne Love. He challenged the evidence, the admission of prior statements, and the trial court’s handling of juror challenges. The Georgia Supreme Court affirmed. The court held that the evidence supported the convictions and that the challenged evidentiary rulings did not require a new trial. It also upheld the trial court’s decision to strike jurors for cause where their relationships with Lanier could affect impartiality. The court rejected the remaining claims and left the convictions and sentences intact.
