Case Summary

Travis Thomas was convicted of two murders and related offenses after Jabrial Adams and Kenny Hart were shot. He challenged the sufficiency of the evidence, the denial of a mistrial, the admission of a confession, and the admission of pretrial identification testimony. The Georgia Supreme Court affirmed. The court held that the evidence supported the convictions, the challenged confession was properly admitted, and the trial court did not abuse its discretion in denying a mistrial. It also held that the photographic lineups were not impermissibly suggestive because the differences among the photographs did not single Thomas out as the suspect. The court rejected the remaining claims and left the convictions and sentences intact.
